Michael Sarnoski directs Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer and Bill Skarsgård in this revisionist take on the Robin Hood legend.

Ultra grim violence kicks things off. The first hour often plays out like a period slasher flick in a folk horror setting. It switches into something more meditative. Certainly not as throat crushing as the opening act. Hugh’s natural A-Lister charm gets lost (not entirely without purpose) within all the grey heaviness.
