Adrian Chiarella directs Joe Bird, Stacy Clausen and Mia Wasikowska in this elevated Aussie horror where young Christians experience a terrifying form of gay conversion therapy.

Owes a big debt to It Follows. There are some nasty shocks. Nothing goes as hard as Australian horror right now. But as with many flicks of this particular cycle, Leviticus operates in a very depressing, hopeless, emotionally manipulative setting. It becomes overly grinding after a few movies, and it doesn’t help that this one is a little too “on-the-nose” in what it wants to achieve. Probably wouldn’t rush to be this bummed out again. Great to see Wasikowska back up on the big screen… and cult Bad Boy Bubby actor Nicholas Elliot has a small but integral role. We caught this on our trip to Reykjavik at the iconic Bíó Paradís.
