It brought RDJ up up up from cinematic footnote to Iron Man mega star, the effervescent Michelle Monaghan into a slinky Santa costume with her best written part ever, and Val Kilmer just a little dignity after he flushed his not overly deserved stardom down the drain after Batman. If you love this kind of thing, you’ll love this kind of thing. There’s no real depth to it but an abundance of delicious flavour.
